Deadbot Privacy Policy
Effective September 12, 2026. Deadbot (Discord application ID 1031819265017384970) is operated by DEADSHOT.io for its Discord community. This policy covers the bot. The game has a separate privacy policy.
What the bot does
Deadbot answers game-stat requests, provides chat XP and level roles, and lets server boosters link a game username to receive an in-game booster badge. It checks member joins, departures, roles, and boost status to keep these rewards accurate.
Information we use
- Discord server and member IDs, member roles and boost status, and profile information needed to display a requested response.
- Message text handled temporarily to check whether it meets the minimum length for chat XP. We save XP, levels, and a count of qualifying messages within the current XP interval, along with the Discord IDs needed to award XP.
- When you use
/claim: the game username you supply, the game's account creation timestamp to distinguish reused usernames, and claim-maintenance information. - Game usernames submitted through commands and the game stats or inventory returned for the requested response.
- A keyed identifier and deletion timestamp used to prevent erased records from returning during recovery. Any opt-out chosen under an earlier version of the controls remains recorded until you remove it.
Discord sends data needed to process commands and member/message events. Some data is handled temporarily in memory without being added to the bot's saved records. We do not sell Discord data or use it to train machine-learning or AI models.
Message content and commands
To award chat XP, Deadbot uses Discord's Message Content privileged intent to check the length of ordinary server messages for chat XP. The default minimum is 15 characters, configurable by server managers. Shorter messages do not earn XP. An interval limit also restricts how many messages can earn XP. This discourages earning rewards through very short messages. A message can qualify only when Discord supplies its text and it meets the length requirement.
Discord delivers message text to the bot process, where it is handled temporarily in memory during event processing. Deadbot checks its length; it does not analyze the meaning of conversations. The message cache is disabled, and chat text, attachments, individual message lengths and transcripts are not saved in bot records or managed backups. Inputs you deliberately submit through slash commands are processed to answer the command; a username submitted through /claim is saved as described above.
Deleting saved data is a reset, not a permanent stop to future collection. If you send another qualifying message after deletion, Deadbot can create a fresh XP record. Viewing the privacy controls, another user looking up your XP, or simply rejoining does not recreate deleted XP records.
Use and sharing
We use this information to answer your commands, calculate XP and levels, maintain earned roles and booster badges, prevent mistaken badge assignments, and operate and recover the bot. Our hosting and database service providers process information to provide these services. Claimed game usernames are sent to DEADSHOT.io's game services to check accounts and maintain badges.
Stats, XP, claim replies, level announcements, and boost notices may be visible to members of the Discord channel where they appear. Privacy controls and deletion confirmations are private to the requesting user. Discord handles messages and interactions under its own privacy policy. We may disclose information when legally required.
This policy webpage is delivered through Cloudflare, which receives technical information needed to serve the page and provides page-load analytics. See Cloudflare's privacy policy. These webpage requests are separate from the bot's Discord records.
Storage and retention
Saved bot records, deletion markers, earlier privacy preferences, and managed bot backups are encrypted at rest, with access restricted to the operator and service providers. We keep XP and claim records while they support your participation, including restoring earned roles after rejoining, until you request deletion or the information is no longer needed.
Managed local backups follow a 30-day retention window and database backups follow a 60-day window, with daily pruning. Self-service deletion removes active records immediately. Copies already in managed backups remain until scheduled expiry or replacement. We keep those deleted records beyond use: they are excluded from restoration and are not used for XP, claims or other purposes. New backups contain only current active records. Deletion markers are kept while needed to prevent recovery of erased records. Earlier opt-out preferences are kept while needed to honor those choices.
Operational records are separate from managed bot backups. Bot and login-service output is encrypted before it is written to service logs, and retained historical logs are encrypted archives. They may include service errors, historical Discord member or claim events, and game-service logs containing usernames involved in booster badge changes. The 30-day and 60-day backup windows do not describe retention for those logs, and /privacy does not automatically erase them. Contact the administrators below to request access, correction or deletion of records outside the self-service bot data. Bot deletion does not remove messages already posted on Discord or delete your DEADSHOT.io game account.
Delete saved data or correct a link
Run /privacy, select Delete my bot data, and confirm. This removes active XP, levels, and booster account links across servers where Deadbot stores your data, and removes earned level roles and linked booster badge access where the service can do so. A minimal keyed deletion marker remains to prevent old records from being restored. Existing backup copies follow the retention schedule above. You do not need to leave the server for active-data deletion to complete. The bot confirms completion or tells you if an operation needs to be retried.
Your next qualifying message can start XP from zero. If eligible, use /claim again to create a new booster link and receive a badge. Old XP and links are never restored by this new activity. You can also use /claim to correct a current booster link. If you chose an opt-out under the previous controls, it remains active until you select Allow new data or confirm another deletion under these reset rules.
Other privacy rights
Depending on the law that applies to you, you may have rights to access or receive a copy of your information, correct it, delete it, restrict its use, object to processing, or receive portable data where applicable. You may also have a right to complain to your local data protection authority. Contact us using the route below to make a request. We may need to verify that the account belongs to you, and will handle requests within the deadlines required by applicable law. The privacy command is one way to exercise your choices; it does not limit any rights you have under law.
Contact and other requests
For privacy questions, corrections, deletion requests that cannot be completed through the bot, or help accessing the controls, contact the DEADSHOT.io server administrators through the official Discord server. Ask to speak privately with an administrator about Deadbot privacy. Only provide the information needed to identify your own Discord account and request; never send passwords or authentication tokens.
We may update this policy as the bot changes. The current version is available on this page and through /privacy.
